Toledo's Dial-Up
Well I
personally haven't had a dial-up modem in my machine
for years, I had ISDN in 1997-98
and then switched to Cable.
But I know a lot of people who
use it, and I test their machines
often when they screw it up.
ISDN is
offered by Toast NET (www.toast.net), they charge
$39.95 a month and the phone
company charges an additional
$49.95 a month for the special
ISDN lines to your home. Another,
is ToledoLink (www.toledolink)
which charges $39.90. So If
you live outside of Toledo, then
this is your only means of high speed.
(128k up/down speed). Was good
back in the day, but way to
pricey for old technology.
Basically gives you the speed of two 56k
modems at 10x the cost.
Toledo Based ISPs for 56k
dial-up:
Toast NET (www.toast.net)
offers basic package for $15.95 a month,
with a $20 setup fee. My history
with Toast NET has been good, I know
they have upgraded servers and
tech support that will keep you happy.
GlassCity (www.glasscity.net)
this company has been bought and sold
several times over, if your a
customer now, GET OUT QUICK!
ToledoLink (www.toledolink.com)
offers for $19.95, with only web-based
tech support (beware).
AccessToledo (www.accesstoledo.com)
offers $14.95 a month, but again
support isn't all that good. But
for a cheap deal, this is best.
Final Word:
If you don't like the package
Toast Net offers try a world wide ISP.
